Join the Ansaar Program’s Water Drive project to help Australian families in rural and remote areas of NSW.
Al-Ghazzali Centre’s is continuing its research and assessment on how to best assist and support families in drought-stricken areas. The current situation, as well as limitations of our resources indicate that our assistance in the following ways can bring some relief as well as hope for those families:
- Transporting water via tank-trunks, providing relief for at least a week at a time to as many families we can reach.
- Facilitating boring for water in locations where it is feasible.
- Constructing environmentally sensitive wells and dams to collect and store water over a medium term.
Apart from direct assistance with water, the following support services are also the objectives of the Water Drive Project:
- Providing emotional support, including counselling to distraught families and individuals.
- Arranging social gatherings amongst the local families.
- Facilitating a “sister-city” relationship between a remote region and our Sydney metropolitan community, where assistance, support and friendship is nurtured to continue long-term.
