New Beginnings: Connecting to Islam

For 1400 years Islam has been at the forefront of human development. Breaking new grounds in scientific and mathematical fields, fusing traditional and contemporary medical knowledge, and unravelling the heavens by giving new understanding to astronomy.

Islam is a way of life that is based on discovery and enquiry to achieve personal spiritual growth and peaceful coexistence. Islam’s fundamental concern is to create a direct link between man and his Creator.

This seminar is designed for anyone who wants to know more about Islam, has recently converted to the faith or is trying to reconnect to Islam. It will cover the following topics:

  • Covering the fundamental principles of the faith
  • The characteristics of God, and the Holy Prophet
  • Looking at the modern day challenges faced by muslims and Islam
  • Discussing whether the founding principles of Islam and those of modern society are really at odds or more complementary to each other
